History of HtI

The biennial event Hochschule trifft Industrie (or University meets Industry) was launched in 1999 by Jörg Pietruszka (now University of Düsseldorf) and Joachim Podlech (now KIT, Karlsruhe), with the initiative for the series of events coming from Joachim E. A. Luithle and Michael Linder, a couple of doctoral students in Jörg Pietruszka's group. Since then, Hochschule trifft Industrie can look back on an extremely successful history. 

The primary goal was, and is, the scientific exchange of ideas between academic junior research groups with a synthetic focus, and companies in the field of application-orientated organic synthesis. 

This year, the XIII edition of the event will take place from the 25th to the 27th of September 2024 under the patronage of Syngenta at the Stein site (Switzerland) and is organised by Olivier Loiseleur (Syngenta), Patrick Isenegger (Syngenta), Adrián Gómez Suárez (University of Wuppertal), Golo Storch (TU Munich) and Franziska Thomas (University of Heidelberg).
